CASE 01 Detail Case
an unfounded case of superlative expression
This is an example of using superlative and comparative expressions such as 'No. 1 in the industry', 'world' and 'only in Korea' without objective evidence or evidence.\n This expression may cause consumers to perceive the quality, effectiveness, and market advantage of the product differently from the facts, and may be restricted to false or exaggerated advertisements in accordance with the 「Act on Fairness of Labeling and Advertising」.

03 · This week's main issue — Examples of exaggerating reward performance and effectiveness

We share a case where the possibility of misunderstanding consumers has been confirmed by exaggerating the performance and effectiveness of rewards.

1. Advertising false and exaggerated performance of home appliances
Details of report
Supporter reports have been received that exaggerated figures and expressions were used in the product performance guidance process within the project story.
Details of confirmation
After reviewing the performance-related expressions and rewards information in the project, the test report submitted by the manufacturer was confirmed, but it was found to be different from the actual performance figures in the story. As a result, we decided that there was a possibility of misunderstanding consumers due to expressions different from objective grounds, so we requested a story correction and took related measures.
2. False and exaggerated advertisements for improving physical ability
Details of report
Supporter reports have been received that exaggerated expressions have been used to improve physical ability and exercise performance when using rewards.
Details of confirmation
In order to check the normal operation of the device, the actual reward was collected and tested, and it was confirmed that there were no functional problems. However, as a result of the verification, the direct improvement effect of physical ability was not confirmed, so we requested a story correction and took related measures for expressions that could definitively recognize the effect of improving physical ability.
Operational Complement Direction
Based on the above case, Wadiz will strengthen the inspection of false and exaggerated advertising such as performance figures and improvement of physical performance, and will continue to monitor and inspect project stories and rewards information that may cause consumer misconceptions.
