How do I sign a joint guarantee agreement?

✅ What is a joint guarantee?

It is a promise that the representative of the corporate business will bear the responsibility of the project together for the protection of supporters and trust relationship following the advance payment of settlement payments.

Funding projects and preorder projects in Korea pay most of the settlement amount in advance, so corporate operators will have limited liability in proportion to the size of their assets depending on the situation.

Through this, it is necessary for the representatives of corporate businesses to take joint responsibility in order to minimize damage to supporters and further strengthen trust between makers and supporters.

✅ Reason for personal seal or handwritten signature of corporate representative, not corporate seal 

Solidarity guarantee signing is only necessary if the selection calculation is made, such as a funding project or a free order domestic type.

This is an agreement to strengthen trust between the maker and the supporter, and it is concluded that the corporate representative will fulfill his responsibility in the event of a problem with the corporate body. Therefore, you need a personal seal or a handwritten signature from the representative, not a corporate seal. 

When signing a joint guarantee, if it is difficult to authenticate the representative, you must submit related documents such as a personal seal certificate or a certificate of personal signature to confirm that the representative himself/herself signed. 

If it is difficult to seal a personal seal, there is also a way to proceed with the project in a special composition or limited edition type that does not require a joint guarantee because the selection calculation is not made.

✅ How to check joint guarantee

We send an electronic agreement (joint guarantee/delegation letter) signed to the representative email address you entered in the [Project Information] tab in the maker studio. If you don't see the mail, make sure to check your spam mailbox, too!
 

✅ Items required when preparing a joint guarantee 

• Name of corporation (trade name): Trade name registered in the maker studio 
• Business registration number: Business registration number listed on the business registration certificate
• Business address: Business address registered in business registration certificate
• Name of representative: Representative listed on the business registration certificate
• Date of birth of the representative: Date of birth of the representative on the business registration certificate
• Representative mobile number: Representative's mobile phone number listed on the business registration card
• Solidarity guarantor (Name): Representative's name (Please enter the signature of the representative, not the trade name)

Both the personal seal certificate and the personal signature verification can be issued by the government 24 or the community center, and Wadiz does not provide a separate form.

However, please note that you must bring your ID and seal to the community center in person at the time of initial issuance. 

If you get it issued through an agent, you need an agent ID, a power of attorney (downloadable government 24), and a copy of the power of attorney's ID, so please prepare it together. You can check the government's 24 website or the local community center once more for specific document preparations.
