For international shipping, is the shipping cost calculated based on actual weight or volumetric weight?

In international shipping, shipping costs are calculated based on the larger value of the product's actual weight and volumetric weight.

This is a common rate standard for air and international express logistics, and it applies the same in most countries.

✅ How do I calculate the volume weight?

The volume weight is calculated by the following formula.
Volume Weight (kg) = (width cm × length cm × height cm) ÷ 5,000\n\n [example] Packaging box size: 40 × 30 × 20 cm\n → Volume weight = (40 × 30 × 20) ÷ 5,000 = 4.8 kg\n\n If the actual weight of this product is 2 kg, the shipping cost will be charged based on the volume weight of 4.8 kg.

✅ In which cases is the bulk weight applied more?

In the following cases, the volume weight is higher than the actual weight, which may result in additional costs.

  • Light but bulky clothing, blankets, products including cushioning, etc
  • a box-oriented product
  • The packaging is large due to the variety of reward components
