wadiz Parallel Import Project Guide

What is Parallel Import?

Parallel import refers to importing genuine products that have been officially manufactured and sold overseas without going through the domestic official importer (distributor).

Example: If you purchase genuine apparel from an overseas brand store and import it into Korea, as long as the authenticity and customs clearance are properly secured, you can proceed with the project as a parallel import.

When a Parallel Import Project is Allowed

  • The product must be an officially manufactured and sold genuine item overseas.

  • Domestic customs clearance procedures must be properly completed.

  • You must be able to submit proof of purchase and authenticity (invoice, receipt, etc.).

  • A/S, exchange, and refund conditions must be clearly disclosed in the project story.

Required Documentation

  • Mandatory Documents

    • Import Declaration Certificate: Proof that the goods were legally cleared through customs.

    • Proof of purchase: Official brand invoice, local store receipt, distribution/sales contract, etc.

  • Recommended Additional Documents

    • Authenticity certificates: Warranty cards, label/tag images (with full serial numbers masked).

    • Distribution route documents: Supplier-issued invoice, international shipping label (tracking), etc.

Important Notes

  • Trademark Check: Verify in advance that the brand allows parallel import (Korea Customs Service > Trademark Customs Registration Information).

  • Disclosure in Project Story: Must clearly state that the reward is a parallel import, including A/S limitations and warranty restrictions.

  • Legal/Dispute Risks: If there is a risk of trademark disputes or counterfeit suspicion, the project may be suspended to protect supporters.

  • Building Trust: Publishing part of the required documents (e.g., partial import certificate, invoice screenshot, purchase proof) increases project credibility. Sensitive data (personal info, amount, serial numbers) must be masked before disclosure.

※ This guideline applies equally to both Korean and overseas makers.
